Bickers, Richard Townshend
Von Richthofen: The Legend Evaluated
 Naval Institute Press
Annapolis, Md.,
1996

171 pp

Estimated Value: $5 - $10

This is a fairly routine recounting of an already well documented life.   In evaluating the legend of Von Richthofen, Bickers regularly draws comparisons to WW2 flyers and operations, a subject I suspect he is better versed in.  The author seems determined to explain the Red Baron against the framework of the second world war but  any conclusions he reaches to be already self apparent.   Overall, this book has a "padded" feel to it.   Two chapters are devoted exclusively to WW2 and the Korean war.  Also chapters covering allied aces.
